AXIS A4020-E Reader is a convenient and reliable complement to any Axis access control system. It's designed to perfectly match Axis network door controllers and Axis credentials for secure and seamless touch-free entry. Including IP65, NEMA 4X, and IK07 ratings it's ideal for use in harsh environments both indoors and outdoors. And, with a modern mullion-mount design, it fits perfectly in narrow spaces and door frame installations.

AXIS A4020-E Reader gives you the flexibility and possibility needed to quickly respond to future changes, while also ensuring backward compatibility. Designed to meet specific system requirements, it supports most types of smart RFID card standards with 13.56MHz credential technologies including MIFARE Classic®, MIFARE Plus®, MIFARE DESFire® EV1, and EV2. It includes out-of-the-box support for Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure bidirectional communication. Plus, it enables easy and remote device management including new feature upgrades, device configuration, and security enhancement via Axis access control solutions.

Secure Channel Protocol (SCP) is supported, enabling secure communications and connections. Signed firmware and secure boot guarantee that the firmware hasn't been compromised and ensure only authorized firmware is installed. And if needed, secure boot guarantees the reader is completely free of malware even after a factory default. The certified secure element hardware ensures all cryptographic keys are safe and securely stored And, for added peace of mind, it includes tamper detection, so you'll know if there's any attempt to interfere with the device.
